With his awesomely good looks 21-year-old Rob, Millsy to his
friends, was very popular with the ladies. He even had a brief fling with
Paris Hilton. But there's a lot more to him than just girls...

Robert (known to his friends as “Millsy”) describes himself as a
lover and not a fighter. One of the big loves of his life is AFL (that’s
“footy” to all the Aussies!). He actually played over a hundred and fifty
games before he quit football so he could pursue a singing career. In an
weird
twist, Millsy did his first ever audition standing at a urinal in a footy club!

According to his mum Bronwyn her boy has been singing since the age of
two onward and used to grab anything that resembled a microphone so
he could strut about the house pretending to perform to a crowd of
thousands. He also played fake guitar on the best instrument in the
whole world – a tennis racquet! Bronwyn also thinks that Millsy is a “people
magnet” and he has hung around with the same group of friends since
he was a kid.

When he was at school, he majored in singing for his final school exams and
was amazed to get a D+. Fortunately he wasn't put off and
continued to pursue his love of singing and performing. Millsy auditioned for
Idol as a bit of a laugh and didn’t expect to get as far as he did but he
was very glad that he did, who wouldn't be?

Millsy prefers performing to a whole crowd of people, rather than just a
few, because he can work with the crowd’s energy and feed off it. Which he
does very well!!!

He lives in a fairly blokey household, sharing with two other guys.
According to them when Millsy's home the house is messy but when he's away the
house is tidy, spotless even. Millsy says he spent most of his childhood tormenting his
older brothers in the “sheltered south eastern suburbs”.

Robert is one busy guy. Before Idol he was in three bands, who are all did
regular gigs around Melbourne and he spent most of his time running from
show to show.
The first band is called “Megamen” and is an acoustic cover band. The next
is “Sector 7-G” which is a rock cover band and finally, there’s “White
Line” where he performs original songs. They play corporate shows for
football clubs, pubs, weddings, business functions, pretty much anything. Robert is
lead vocals but he also plays a “manly tambourine”. He is hoping to
bring the manliness back into tambourine playing. He’s not too bad on the
guitar and claims to know a chord or two. is Dad says that he play the
tambourine cos he can't play the guitar! Hmmmmmmm...

Some of influences he says are Audio Slave and Robbie Williams. His
ultimate dream is to be “standing before a crowd of 60,000 people and to
sing the first line of a song I’ve written myself, the hold the microphone
out toward the crowd and have them sing the rest – it would be totally
amazing to have so many people know the words to a song I wrote.”

His dedication to his music is so big that when Millsy copped a broken nose
recently he put off having an operation to get it fixed
because he was worried it might affect his voice. When he’s not racing around town singing
and rehearsing, he likes to hang with his mates and show off.

Since Idol Millsy has been a very busy boy. He was apart of the Australian Idol tour and to check out what songs he
sang during it, check out the 'Songs Millsy Sang On Australian Idol' link.
He has made a few public appearances including
Adelaide's Skyshow (which I had the privilege of seeing him perform at!! YAY,
he is sooooooo hot!) and he was one of the lucky few to score a recording
contract with BMG! I have heard that his album will be released around June.
He also auditioned for 'Neighbours' and he has been offered a movie deal!! I
don't think any of us will be complaining if he appears on the big screen,
presuming he can act of course!
