Pete the pig farmer. Like Matt he was also voted off during the 70's show but he obviously made a good impression because it has been said that he is working on an album! Since the show the 27-year-old has also left the country and moved to Brisbane.

Before Australian Idol Peter had a pretty unusual job. He worked in the mating section of a piggery in Tabulam in the north of New South Wales, where the pigs are on a mating quota. His job was to ensure the weekly quota was met. He also looks after the well being of the pigs and makes sure that they are well fed, taken care of and happy. There are thousands of pigs and about three hundred new piglets are born every week. Before that he was a sparkie’s labourer and then a bricky’s labourer but his occupation has changed again since he moved to Brisbane and he is now working on an album.

He’s a country boy who has always enjoyed mucking around with singing. When he was a kid used to annoy his parents racing around the house singing with his ukulele and his brother used to get annoyed cos Peter would get caught up in some tune while in the shower and use all the hot water! Peter grew up on an agricultural research station in the bush of New South Wales. He was often found out the station riding motorbikes or  playing cricket in back yard with his older brother.

When Peter was around twelve he started to teach himself how to sing. He did this by listening intently to other singers and also watching them. He really likes to listen to guy singers with strong voices, like Elvis Presley, Richard Marks, John Farnham and Roy Orbison. He’s  also listens to the occasional ballad and loves to belt out a bit of rock and roll!

Peter has had girlfriend for the past three years named Raylee. It is her that Peter has to thank for his opportunity on Australian Idol. She pressed him to go and kept all the audition information. Until she had mentioned it he hadn’t even considered it, but now is very glad that he followed her advice!
