'Through The Mills And Back'

He's the party boy who landed Paris Hilton, the Australian Idol finalist who
scored a record deal with BMG.
But Robert "Millsy" Mills has revealed there is plenty of pressure behind being
pop's latest pin-up boy.
"I've shed a tear at times, just to release some of the stress," revealed Millsy,
during an intimate interview last week. "It does get to you a little bit.
"I mean, going from a cover band singer, which mainly happened on weekends, to
all this," he said, referring to his album deal, feature film prospects and red
carpet duties.
"There's no doubt before all this happened I was just cruising through life."
Millsy admitted he had already written a song about the upheaval in his life -
and the way he has had to change his personal focus and workload - as a result
of his appearances on Australian Idol. The track is likely to appear on his
debut album, which is scheduled for release in June.
The singer also credits Eminem's Lose Yourself as an influential song, "because
it says you've only got one shot [at fame].
"There's a time when you've got to pull your socks up and go for it."
Apart from his musical pursuits (and his ongoing reputation as a playboy),
Millsy's promotional opportunities just keep rolling in. He has been named as an
ambassador for the Golden Slipper Festival, as part of the Autumn Racing
Carnival in Sydney, alongside Tania Zaetta.
Of course, it's all thanks to Australian Idol, but Millsy baulks at the show
being called "reality TV".
"It's more like a karaoke competition which just happened to be on TV," he said,
with a laugh.
And it doesn't look like he's putting down the microphone anytime soon.
